EMAL
is a $5.7-billion (Dh20.91 billion) joint venture between Dubai
Aluminium and Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company and was established
in February 2007 to construct what will become the world's largest
single-site aluminium smelter complex and the UAE's landmark non-oil
project
The smelter was formally opened by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad
Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the
UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed
Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of
the UAE Armed Forces.

The multi-media opening presentation was staged at a specially constructed
event venue at the smelter site comprising a 1,000 seat auditorium
built within the World's largest 360 degree video projection dome,
an exhibition space showing the development of the Emal project and
a Royal majilis with heliport.
Production management for the multi national creative, artistic and
production team including oversight of all technical, site and operational
aspects of the event production, liaison with venue representatives
and local suppliers.

The
Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes Competition is an annual event held
by The Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi (OBAD) for photographs which
reflect the spirit of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The 2010 competition
featured 11,006 entries from 83 nationalities from which 10 winners
were selected.
Under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed
Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of
the UAE Armed Forces, the awards ceremony was held at ADNEC in Abu
Dhabi in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al
Nahyan.

QUEEN
ELIZABETH II STATE VISIT TO THE UAE / LAUNCH OF THE SHEIKH ZAYED NATIONAL
MUSEUM

The
first state visit to the United Arab Emirates in 31 years by Queen
Elizabeth II culminated with the unveiling of plans for Saadiyat
Island's iconic Zayed National Museum at a special garden party
event held in the presence of 2,000 invited and VIP guests within
a custom built outdoor exhibition space and arena at Emirates Palace.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President
and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh
Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met and showed the Queen
around an exhibition representing the five pillars of Shaikh Zayed's
legacy: history and society; people and heritage; land and water;
faith and Islam; and science and learning at the Emirates Palace.
The Queen, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, Duke of York and
UK Foreign Minister William Hague, was then shown the design of
the Sheikh Zayed National Museum.

The Duke of Edinburgh later joined Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, the
Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Majid bin Mohamed, Prince Andrew and
80 UAE Forces veterans who had graduated from Britain's Naval, Air
Force and Military (Army) Academies, to watch a flyby of UAE and UK
jets.

COHEN - THE MEKONG SESSIONS 2010 Phnom

Landmark
concerts by Leonard Cohen planned to be staged on two consecutive
nights, the performances were planned to benefit local charities
and mark the first concerts to be staged in Cambodia by a major
international artist.
The production was to be staged in the historic Olympic Stadium
Arena. Advance production for the event involved 6 months on site
planning and close co-operation with Thai and Cambodian authorities
and suppliers with equipment and services trucked overland from
Thailand and also provided locally.
Production and logistics planning including specification, budgeting
and rental co-ordination of all rider equipment and service requirements
on behalf of the LC Tour; consultation, scheduling and/or oversight
of backstage and arena renovation works,all show technical requirements
including stage technical equipment, venue layout, fencing & barriers,
temporary structures, site electrics, showpower, plant equipment,
communications, outside broadcast, health & safety provisions, security
& stewarding, etc.. |

ULTIMATE
FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (UFC) 112 Abu

UFC
is the largest martial arts sporting event in the world and in addition
to marking the first venture in the UAE and Middle East region,
UFC 112 was also the first time in the history of the sport that
the event has been staged and produced in an outdoor venue. The
event was broadcast live to a global audience of 2.2 million.
In order to accommodate the event a 60,000sqm site had to be created
within the Ferrari World theme park construction site and transformed
into a 10,000 capacity in-the-round all-seated arena venue complete
with all public and production facilities and infrastructure. This
required the advance preparation of the ground surface & access
routes, the installation of temporary fencing, grandstand seating
structures, show & site power, site electrics, F&B outlets, toilets,
signage, communications, entrance set-up, backstage facilities and
full stage technical production. This was successfully accomplished
in a total of 18 days from start date on site.
In
addition to this were the arrangement and co-ordination of event
services including F&B management, waste management, event security
& stewarding, VIP car park management, medical & fire cover, etc.;
the implementation of health & safety practice, co-ordination of
sponsor requirements and liaison re royal protocol and security
requirements. |

FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX CONCERTS 2009

The inaugural Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix concert series was the largest ever series of post race F1 concerts, the largest concert series to be staged in the Middle East region and the highest attended concerts in the UAE to date. The concerts were held at Ferrari World on Yas Island adjacent to the race track and featured concerts with Beyoncé, Jamiroquai, Kings of Leon and Aerosmith on consecutive nights over the race weekend to a combined crowd of more than 140,000 people in a spectacular climax to the international Formula One 2009 season.

In order to accommodate the concerts a 60,000sqm site had to be created within the Ferrari World theme park construction site and transformed into a 50,000 capacity arena venue complete with all public and production facilities and infrastructure. This involved close co-operation with Ferrari World/Aldar engineering project managers and required the preparation of the ground surface & public and production access routes, the installation of temporary fencing, structures, show & site power, site electrics, F&B outlets, toilets, signage, communications, entrance set-up, backstage facilities and full stage technical production. This was successfully accomplished in a total of 21 days from start date.
In addition to this were the arrangement and co-ordination of event services including F&B management, waste management, event security & stewarding, VIP car park management, medical & fire cover, etc.; the implementation of health & safety practice, co-ordination of sponsor requirements and liaison re royal protocol and security requirements.

THE ROYAL HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY – Musical Ride – ADIHEX Abu Dhabi 2009

The first-ever Middle Eastern performance of Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment's 'The Musical Ride' team was the highlight of the 2009 Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec). The Musical Ride consists of 28 horses and 36 soldiers who perform traditional equine routines accompanied by music. The performances took place at the personal invitation of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and was organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and The Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The production was staged in a custom built indoor auditorium within Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre including full show technical production, temporary Royal, VIP and public seating stands, stables, warm-up and preparation areas and a performance arena comprising 650 metric tons of surface material shipped specially from the USA.
Responsibilities included venue layout and infrastructure planning, co-ordination and management including construction, power, communications, outside broadcast, backstage and arena facilities, waste management, health & safety provisions & practices, Royal & VIP protocol liaison, sponsor requirements, venue liaison, security & stewarding operations and full technical management.

COLDPLAY
- Viva La Vida Tour - Live in Abu Dhabi 2009

Landmark concerts by Andrea Bocelli and
Coldplay staged on consecutive nights as part of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts
Festival, the performance marked Coldplay’s first appearance in the region and
was also the region’s first carbon-offset concert staged as part of the
WWF’s Earth Hour campaign.
The production was staged in the grounds
of the prestigious Emirates Palace Hotel in a custom built arena venue for a
total capacity of 17,000. Two different arena and staging setups were required
for the performances, with the Coldplay event designed as a standing concert
with thrust stage, while the Bocelli concert was a proscenium style presentation
with an all-seated arena.

The Abu Dhabi concert was the culmination of the 80 date 25Live World Tour.

Alicia Keys has built an unparalleled repertoire of hits and accomplishments with over 20 million albums sold worldwide. Her signature hit “Fallin,” sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and garnered five Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best R&B Album. Alicia’s follow-up disc, 2004’s The Diary of Alicia Keys, which is currently 7 times platinum, captured four Grammy Awards.
The event was the final concert of the critically acclaimed 25Live World Tour and broke the records previously set by Shakira (2006) and Robbie Williams (2006) respectively for the largest concert event and also the largest technical production to be staged in the history of the UAE.

Prior to arriving in the UAE, the KylieX2008 Tour traveled to 21 countries playing to over half a million fans at 53 sold out shows. A reported £10million was spent in creating the tour production, with no less than eight full cast costume changes and costumes created by extravagant French designer Jean Paul Gaultier. |

PATA CEO CHALLENGE 2008 : CONFRONTING CLIMATE CHANGE

The inaugural PATA CEO Challenge was staged at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre in April 2008 for CEO and senior level executives from leading travel and tourism industry companies to share initiatives and inspire the industry to take action to counter the impacts of climate change.
The keynote speakers were :
Dr RK Pachauri (Chairman - UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize in conjunction with US Vice President Al Gore for alerting the world to the dangers of global warming) and Mr Geoffrey Lipman (Assistant Secretary-General United Nations World Tourism).
Featured speakers and panelists included :

The Dubai Desert Rock Festival was established in 2004 and is the largest
annual music festival in the Gulf drawing fans from throughout the region
including Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait & Syria and
featuring extreme sports activities as well as concert performances by major
international and local rock artists.
The
5th Anniversary event was staged over two days with 28,000 in attendance at a

Advance production management and technical co-ordination for artists and local production including staging, décor, light, sound, video, backline, pyrotechnics, fireworks, OB, freight, local and international staffing, etc.

The festival was forced to relocate to a new site 6 weeks prior to the event date requiring a complete revision of the layout and all related advance production arrangements.

The Future Sex/Love World Show was one of the top grossing tours of 2007 and the largest concert event in the history of the capital of the UAE. The production was staged in the grounds of the prestigious Emirates Palace Hotel in a custom built arena venue for a total capacity audience of 15,000.
